The Church of St Mary and All Saints also known as 'The Crooked Spire' is a Grade I Listed building dating back to the 14th Century. While it was origionally believed that the spire looks the way it does due to less than ideal building techniques at the time of its construction, it has been discovered more recently that the lead on the roof heats up on the South side more than the North causing it to expand and creates the twisting phenomenon.
