At Reeds Rains we’re always looking for new ways to recognise, celebrate and respect diversity in our own business, and in the communities in which we work, and for that reason we’re delighted to support Pride Month and those in the LGBTQ+ community, on an ongoing basis.
And, the good news is, we’re now able to better demonstrate this by being one of the first businesses in the UK to adopt a new Google LGBTQ+ attribute that basically helps identify us as being a safe and welcoming business to all.
A rainbow flag will soon be proudly displayed on our business profiles so that those searching for information about us, or our branches, will know of our support to the LGBTQ+ community. Alarmingly, it comes following research(*) that highlighted that 1 in 7 people surveyed felt they had been discriminated against because of their gender identity when visiting certain establishments last year – and that it was even more distressing for transgender people; with 1 in 3 feeling discriminated against.
The introduction of the new Google LGBTQ+ attribute is great news for Reeds Rains and comes at the perfect time during Pride Month.
