Reeds Rains Portishead supported a community initiative that saw local residents plant up Wellington boots and display them around the town, in time for the judging of Portishead in the South West in Bloom competition in July.
Reeds Rains Portishead sponsored and printed posters and the entry forms for the plant a welly contest. A £1 entry fee meant that the project also raised funds for the charity Educate the Kids.
Martin Bowley, director of Reeds Rains Portishead, said:
“It’s always good to get involved in local events and activities and give something back to the local community.”
The doorstep competition was won by Portishead vets, Vale Vets, who will receive a gift voucher. Other winners include Lilyana Smart, Rhys Thornton and Lucy John who will all receive a pair of funky wellies and Portishead Library which will also receive a gift voucher.
