Reeds Rains estate agents in Portishead teamed up with children at its local youth centre to put together a 20-year time capsule.
The Reeds Rains staff included current house prices, a local street map, some currency and the staff’s predictions for house prices in 2039. The youngsters chose to include the latest youth centre prospectus, newspapers, some personal information including how much pocket money they receive, the cost of their favourite sweets and their forecast for how life will be in 20 years time.
Lettings Manager Rozzanna Farbrace, from Reeds Rains Portishead, said:
“We were delighted to involve some of the young people from Portishead in this project. The time capsule will be stored in a safe place for the future, to open at the Youth Centre in February 2039.”
Kim Jones, Portishead Youth Centre Manager and Youth Development Officer, said:
“This has been a fun project for the young people to get involved in; we all had great fun thinking about what people in the future will think when they dig it up!”
The capsule will be opened at the youth centre in 2039.
